Qatar’s ambassador at the 2022 World Cup: “Homosexuality damages the psyche”
Khalid Salman, Qatar’s ambassador for the 2022 World Cup, said in an interview that homosexuality is damaging to the mind.
Qatar’s ambassador to the 2022 World Cup and ex-footballer Khaled Salman caused an uproar with his statements to the German media, in which he was asked, among other things, about homosexuals and whether they are allowed to come into the stadiums to watch the tournament.
Salman said homosexuality is illegal under Muslim law because it is “damage to the spirit,” while stressing that young children “may learn something that is not good.”
“The most important thing is that everyone who comes here has to accept our rules. Homosexuality is haram, meaning it is forbidden under Muslim law. I’m not a strict Muslim, but you know what “haram” means. Because it’s brain damage“.
At the same time, he expressed his concern for young children, how they might learn: “something that is not good“.
