Firmino commented on his exclusion from the World Cup in Qatar with a sentence from the Bible
Roberto Firmino was not included in the Brazilian national team for the World Cup in Qatar and with a post on Instagram he commented on his exclusion with a sentence from the Bible.
Brazil announced their 26-man World Cup squad on Tuesday (November 8), with Tite leaving out Roberto Firmino.
Hours later, the Liverpool striker commented on his expulsion from the mission via a social media post, using phrases from the Bible.
“First of all, I would like to thank you for all the wonderful messages. The World Cup is a dream for all footballers and that also applies to me.
Things didn’t turn out the way I imagined or dreamed my life would be, but looking back I am grateful to God for allowing me to live this dream that many others have lived.
You, Lord, will ensure his peace that his spirit remains steady because he trusts in You. (Isaiah 26:3)
I would like to take this opportunity to express my respect and congratulations to everyone who has been invited. It was, is and always will be an honor to defend my country, especially with the gift that God has given me. I am sure that God has the best in store for me.

INFANTINO: “If there was no FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries of the world”
FIFA President Gianni Infantino He commented on World Cup ticket prices, saying they reflected “absolutely insane” demand for next summer’s tournament:
“We have six to seven million tickets and in 15 days we received 150 million ticket requests. So every day we have 10 million requests. This shows how strong the World Cup is.”
FIFA has sold just 44 million tickets in almost 100 years of the World Cup. So we were able to sell tickets for the 300th anniversary of the World Cup in two weeks. Just imagine. “This is absolutely crazy.”
Infantino also noted that funds from ticket sales would be reinvested into world football, but did not specify a specific amount:
“The important thing is that the revenue from this goes back into football around the world. If it weren’t for FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries of the world. Football exists thanks to the revenues we get from the World Cup, and we reinvest that into football around the world.”
Previously, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called on FIFA to further reduce 2026 World Cup ticket prices.
