Former Shakhtar head coach Luis Castro, who currently works with Botafogo in Brazil, shared his views on the favorites for the upcoming 2022 World Cup.

“Some teams, especially Brazil and Germany, seem to have the maximum potential to win the World Cup. Then I think the second favorites are Portugal, Spain and Belgium.”

“Judging from the experience of the coach and the players playing in the national team, I believe Portugal will have a great World Cup. They all play in big clubs in Europe and in tournaments like the Champions League and are used to reaching the best matches and the final stages of the World and European Championships.”

“Brazil is football from morning to night. These are emotions, feelings and passion. Deep sadness when he doesn’t win, and boundless enthusiasm when he wins. Moreover, at temperatures similar to what exists now,” Castro said.

Recall that the start of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar is scheduled for November 20.
