Bruno FERNANDES: “We are happy that it was a team win, no matter who scores”
Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes shared his thoughts on the match against Uruguay in the 2nd week of the World Cup group stage (2-0).
As you know, the Portuguese took the lead in the 55th minute. Initially, Cristiano Ronaldo was named the author of the goal, but after replays it became clear that Bruno Fernandes scored. The midfielder “Manchester United” eventually became the author of the winning couple.
“This is our team, our unity, our return and mutual aid. All this allows us to achieve such conclusions. I celebrated the goal as if it were Cristiano’s, as if he had touched the ball. My goal was to pass him but whoever scores, we are happy as it was a team victory.
Cristiano is a striker, looking for a goal. This is important for the players up ahead, but the most important thing is that we are in the next round,” said Bruno Fernandes.
