Kai Havertz echoes Andre Schurrle’s success

The 23-year-old striker of the German national team Kai Havertz became the author of the joker pair for the 9th time in the final tournaments of the world championships. This is the second pair of German “reserves” at the world championships. Eight years ago, Andre Schurrle, who came as a substitute in the semi-finals, put two signatures on the doors of the Brazilian national team. The Spaniards and the Cameroonians (represented by Roger Milla) also scored twice twice.

The record for performance in a match between “backups” belongs to Hungarian Laszlo Kiss, who in 1982 scored three goals in a group tournament match with El Salvador, which resulted in a super-big victory for his team – 10: 1. And in just seven minutes, he had scored the fastest hat-trick of any world championship.
