France – Denmark. Prediction and announcement for the World Cup match

On Saturday, November 26, at stadium 974, Doha will host the second round match of the 2022 World Cup in Group D, where two favourites, two European teams – France and Denmark – will play against each other.

France

The French national team defends their title at the World Cup in Qatar 4 years ago, but so far the “curse of the champions” (relegation already in the group stage) is unlikely to spill over to Didier Deschamps’ team. In the first round, the tricolors confidently defeated Australia 4:1, although they conceded first.

And all this happens against the backdrop of a horrific injury epidemic in the French national team that began long before the World Cup (a number of key players left, including midfielders Paul Pogba, Ngolo Kante and goalkeeper Mike Meignan). After the application, the main star of the team, the new winner of the Golden Ball, Karim Benzema was injured. The problems did not end there: in the first half of the match against Australia, the cruciate ligament of the knee was torn by Luca Hernandez, who will now be replaced by his brother Theo on the left flank of the defence.

And the fact that, despite all these terrible staff losses, France is still in excellent order is a prime example of the quality and depth of player selection in French football at the moment. Of course, in the later stages of the World Cup, the French may have to remember and regret the absence of Benzema and company, but judging by the match against Australia, the current selection of players should be enough to qualify from the group.

Denmark

The Danish national team won the hearts of everyone at the European Championship last year, and despite the terrible emotional shock of the first match of the tournament, they are one step away from the final. But for the Danes, the start of the current World Cup has been very difficult.

Kasper Yulman’s team drew a goalless draw with Tunisia. Of course, the Danes could complain about a missed penalty for a pretty obvious handball against the Africans in the final minutes of the game, but in terms of the content of the game, Denmark objectively didn’t win enough in that match. Particularly striking was the lack of insight and the sharpness of the attack.

Now the match against France and the possibility of going to the third round with only 1 point are quite real: there may be huge problems with leaving the group. Moreover, the Danes suffered a serious loss of personnel in the first round match. At the end of the first half of the match against Tunisia, the key player of the team, Thomas Delaney, was injured.

meeting history

In total, France and Denmark played 17 matches head-to-head. Strangely enough, the advantage of the French is minimal: 8 wins against 7, 2 more matches ended in a draw. The goal difference is usually in Denmark’s favor: 32 – 21. But this is the essence of the match between the teams at the 1908 Olympics, where the Danes won with a score of 17: 1.

Conflict prediction

France is rightfully considered the favorite of the upcoming match. Our bet is the current world champions win, odds are 1.84.

Anatoly TRUBIN: “Rebrov decided to sacrifice him”

Goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national team Anatoly Trubin I remembered the match against France (0:4) when Sergei Rebrov released the semi-reserve squad.

“It was the coach’s choice. It is always the coach who decides whether the match will be sacrificed or not. If we talk about the challenge itself, we all understand the strength of France. I understood that there could be a lot of shots, there could be a lot of chances, and I was ready for it. When the opponent is always with the ball, constantly attacking, you are always in the game: you play in sections, you react, you constantly feel the rhythm.

For me personally, it’s even easier than when your team is attacking most of the time and you’re standing idle and suddenly there’s a moment where you have to be ready,” Trubin said.

INFANTINO: “If there was no FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries of the world”

FIFA President Gianni Infantino He commented on World Cup ticket prices, saying they reflected “absolutely insane” demand for next summer’s tournament:

“We have six to seven million tickets and in 15 days we received 150 million ticket requests. So every day we have 10 million requests. This shows how strong the World Cup is.”

FIFA has sold just 44 million tickets in almost 100 years of the World Cup. So we were able to sell tickets for the 300th anniversary of the World Cup in two weeks. Just imagine. “This is absolutely crazy.”

Infantino also noted that funds from ticket sales would be reinvested into world football, but did not specify a specific amount:

“The important thing is that the revenue from this goes back into football around the world. If it weren’t for FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries of the world. Football exists thanks to the revenues we get from the World Cup, and we reinvest that into football around the world.”

Previously, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called on FIFA to further reduce 2026 World Cup ticket prices.
