Morocco became the fourth African team in World Cup history to reach the quarter-finals.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup 1/8 match played between the Moroccan and Spanish national teams in Qatar on Tuesday, 6 December has ended.
The main time of the match ended with the score 0:0. Teams who could not find a goal in extra time, the football players of the Moroccan national team successfully turned 11-meter three shots in penalty shootouts and Spain – 0.
With this win, the Moroccan national team reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup for the first time in its history, becoming only the fourth team from Africa to reach the top eight in the World Cup.
Previously, teams from Cameroon (1990), Senegal (2002) and Ghana (2010) managed to do this, but in the end they did not reach the semi-finals.
In the 1/4 final, the Moroccan national team will play against Portugal on 10 December.
