World Cup
Santos made history on the night of his vindication
Tonight Fernando Santos is another confirmation as he made history with a big win over Switzerland.
Portugal easily defeated Switzerland and qualified for the “8” of the 2022 World Cup. The architect of this Iberian effort is again one of us, Fernando Santos.
The 68-year-old veteran technician who shaped Greek football made history in that game by becoming the first Portuguese coach to win a knockout match at a World Cup.
Simultaneously with the game against Switzerland, he became coach of the Portuguese national team with the most games at the World Cup. He reached eight games, surpassing Luiz Felipe Scolari who has 7 while against Morocco he will reach nine games.
