Morocco coach: “I hope Ronaldo doesn’t play with us”
Moroccan head coach Walid Regragui shared his expectations for the match against Portugal in the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup (December 10):
I am proud of my country, my team and the fact that we have reached this stage. We represent Morocco, our people. It is the first time an Arab team has reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
We are supported by an entire continent. We feel this positive energy. We are very happy. It is a great honor to be at this stage. We will play with very technical players against one of the best teams in the world.
I don’t know if Ronaldo will play. I hope not. He’s one of the best players in history, so I’d be happy if he didn’t play. Portugal also wants to reach the semi-finals of the tournament. We must be humble and optimistic.”
