Scaloni: “Argentina and Holland always try to attack”
Lionel Scaloni has expressed the opinion that the clash between Argentina and the Netherlands will fall in the world due to the attacking nature of the two teams, while announcing that he will decide at the last minute whether or not Di Maria and De Paul will participate .
Argentina counts three wins in a row ahead of Qatar (with Mexico and Poland in the group stage, with Australia in the “16”) and needs three more in a row to become world champions for the third time in their history only the first step will not be be easy
They meet Louis van Gaal’s Netherlands on Friday afternoon (08/12), with Lionel Scaloni claiming in his press conference on Thursday that he is looking forward to this clash as both the Albiceleste and the Oranie are in an attacking mood.
“All eight teams that continue have shown their worth and can reach the final.
The game between Argentina and the Netherlands will be very nice because there will be two teams that are always looking to attack.” Characteristically, the South Americans coach said while clarifying for Di Maria and De Paul who are struggling to get 100% past their injury problem:
“De Paul and Di Maria did not train at full speed on Wednesday, but there is still a day to better assess the squad.
Angel did half the training with the rest of the group. I’ll talk to him and we’ll see what we do, he’s an important player but for someone to go on the field he has to be at 100%.”
When asked why Paulo Dybala hasn’t been given time to compete in the 22nd World Championship yet, Scaloni said: “I didn’t think it was wise for him to go out on the field, but he’s fine and we’re happy with his contribution.”
