Decoration on Sportish: “Messi doesn’t need the World Cup, it’s a shame for Brazil, Marcelo is a teacher for Ryabchuk”
Brazilian football legend Deco spoke to Sportish and answered questions about Lionel Messi, the World Cup favourite, Brazil’s exclusion as well as Ryabchuk, Marcelo, Rodney.
Deco, like many other veteran stars, is in Qatar. Because of the 2022 World Cup, the heart of football beats there on a global level.
The 45-year-old former Brazilian midfielder (with Portuguese citizenship) and current players’ agent spoke to his emissary Sportish.
At the same time, Deco named his favorite for the World Cup title, explained why the status of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will not change without the title and commented on Brazil’s failed again.
First of all, the discussion began about Oleg Ryabchuk and coexistence with the “teacher” Marcelo in Rentis. “Reabchuk is very happy in Greece. He plays in a big team like Olympiacos and that’s very good for him. Of course, every aspiring footballer has an interest in playing in one of the big European leagues.
He talks to Marcelo every day, he has him as a teacher. After all, everyone knows who Marcelo is. Next to Roberto Carlos, the best left-back Brazil has ever produced. So it helps him a lot“.
Afterwards Deco also spoke about the upcoming transfer takeover of the Reds. “I think Rodney is an excellent transfer. A talented player who caught the eye in Brazil and now dares his escape to Europe“.
The conversation then turned to the World Cup, with Deco highlighting Didier Deschamps’ blues. “In my eyes, France seems to be the favorite to win the title at the moment. Of course Argentina has its chances too, but I think France is complete everywhere“.
He was then asked about Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, whose World Cup runs have so far been inversely proportional. “There is no destiny, I don’t agree that this is Messi’s moment, it’s his destiny to win the trophy. You know I want Argentina to win because I like Messi, he’s my friend. But Messi and Cristiano don’t need to win the World Cup to prove what they are.
Cristiano Ronaldo is who he is. It was a coach’s decision, the coach is the one who decides and I have nothing to say about it“.
Finally, the conversation ended with the Brazilian national team, who failed to reach the end of the track in another major meeting. “It’s a shame for this super talented generation that they couldn’t win the trophy. It’s a shame, but we’ll try again“.
