Scaloni: “I haven’t realized it yet, it’s nice to be world champion”
Lionel Scaloni couldn’t contain his delight at Argentina’s World Cup title, stressing that he was moved by the team’s success and proud of his players.
The Argentina national team had a nightmare start in Qatar, losing (by surprise) to Saudi Arabia (1-2) but the continuation was a dream and had only joys for Lionel Messi and his company, with the Albiceleste overcoming all obstacles that were before her and achieve the victory of the third world championship in their history.
“I haven’t realized it yet, it’s so nice to be world champions. We couldn’t have suffered more but this team was born to suffer and they know how to react to everything.” Lionel Scaloni emphasized in his statements, with the South American coach adding meaningfully:
“I’m thrilled and proud of my players, after a lot of criticism we’re now enjoying the triumph because we deserve it. All credit to my players, they are an amazing group.”
