Nice move. Moroccan players refuse prize money for 2022 World Cup
Moroccan football players with full force refused Prize money for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Fund will be sent helping poor families in Morocco. The Moroccans earned $25 million for their performance at the World Cup.
Naturally, not all of this money will go to charity, as bonus players only make up a part of this amount. The remaining funds will be transferred to the federation to ensure its own activities and the development of football in the country.
On 17 December, the 3rd place match of the 2022 World Cup was played between the national teams of Morocco and Croatia. The result of the match in favor of the Croats with a score of 2:1 did not allow Morocco to receive a historic medal. However, the Moroccan national team played in the World Cup 1/2 final for the first time in history, while also defeating Canada, Belgium, Spain and Portugal.
The entire Moroccan team decided to donate ALL of their World Cup winnings to poor children and families in Morocco 🇲🇦. A team of people. pic.twitter.com/zyJgEAwhVm
