De Roon scored against Atalanta in a friendly but wished he had against Argentina
Marten De Roon scored against Atalanta in a friendly match, but he himself would like to do it against Argentina, with “Bergamaski” deceiving their player for the same reason.
Atalanta are feverishly preparing for their return to action (which will take place in early 2023) with friendlies away from Italian soil. In the most recent of these, they defeated Betis with a 3-0 goal.
The second goal for Gian Piero Gasperini’s team was scored by Maarten De Roon. However, memories of the 2022 World Cup loss to Argentina are “fresh” for the Dutch midfielder, as he wrote of the goal he scored in a post on Twitter: “Things you would like to see in a game against Argentina instead of in a friendly“.
In fact, the Bergamaskis ‘trolled’ their footballer with a photo of him looking disappointed (obviously because of a missed opportunity) for the same reason.
