The conclusion of the 2022 World Cup gave the people at Transfermarkt the opportunity to adjust the stats of the footballers who took part in the tournament.

Players who have appeared in football’s top competitions have seen their prices skyrocket, some more, some less. The German site increased the market value of 54 players who took part in the Qatar tournament while others fell. There were also some players who were not re-rated after the event ended.

The biggest favorites at this level are two players going head-to-head in the finals, with one being crowned world champion but the other having…triple the prize.

Kylian Mbappe reached 180,000,000 euros transfer market value and became the most expensive footballer in the world in the race with Erling Haaland with a plus of 20,000,000 euros. Enso Fernandes also shot up his shares and is now worth 55,000,000 compared to the 35,000,000 he was worth before the World Cup cross.

Completing the podium is another Argentine who, like Fernandes, was considered a substitute at the start of the event but then played a crucial role leading up to the trophy. Julián Alvarez increased his price by 18,000,000 and is now estimated at 50,000,000.

There have also been footballers who have excelled without their teams reaching the finals of the competition. Two of them were opponents in the small finals and both are not absent from the best elves of the competition published by the media around the world.
