Three nominees announced for FIFA Player of the Year 2022
FIFA has shortlisted three nominees for the title of best player of 2022, one of whom will receive the award at the ceremony. Best FIFA Awards.
The Argentine, who entered the top three on the list, was also included. Lionel Messi (PSG) and the French Karim Benzema (Truth) and Kylian Mbappe (PSG).
Top 11 players were eliminated from the preliminary list: Sadio Mane, Ashraf Hakimi, Julian Alvarez, Kevin de Bruyne, Mohamed Salah, Vinicius Junior, Neymar, Erling Haaland, Luka Modric, Robert Lewandowski and Jude Bellingham.
Journalists, team captains, coaches and fans will vote on the winner of the nomination. Considering the period from the start of the 2021/22 season to the end of the 2022 World Cup, the award will be presented at The Best FIFA Football Awards 2022 special ceremony to be held in Paris on February 27.
Benzema won the La Liga and Champions League with Real Madrid in 2022 and was the top scorer in both tournaments. Messi and Mbappe win Ligue 1 2021/22 gold with PSG. In the 2022 World Cup final, the Argentina national team defeated the French team on penalties. Messi was named the best player of the World Cup and Mbappe took the 2022 World Cup golden shoe with 8 goals scored in the tournament.
In 2020 and 2021, Polish forward Robert Lewandowski was named FIFA World Player of the Year.
