Martines on the provocative celebration: “It was a bet, my teammates are to blame”
Emiliano Martinez has spoken to Tyc Sports about his controversial World Cup celebration in Qatar and suspects it was a bet he made with his Argentina team-mates.
THE Emiliano Martines, Recently awarded The Best Award by FIFA and named Best Goalkeeper 2022, he was one of the most interesting faces at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
We remind you that the goalkeeper of the Argentina national team celebrated his promotion to the best goalkeeper of the 2022 World Cup with the trophy in front of his genitals.
Speaking to Tyc Sports, he commented on the incident, which provoked strong reactions, stressing that it was a bet he made with his teammates.
“I’m not proud apparently for it, but it was a gamble. Just as they were about to give me the gold glove, my teammates said to me:
“Why don’t you do the same as you did in the Copa America”and I said, “What if I do?” and they answered me “What if you don’t?!”. It’s my teammates’ fault” he said characteristically.
