Lawyer: “Due to the dismissal of Pavelko, Ukraine was deprived of the opportunity to host the World Cup”
The lawyer of the President of the Football Federation of Ukraine Andriy Pavelko told what, in his opinion, the active actions of law enforcement and the pressure on the UAF are fraught with.
“The decision to remove Pavelko from the post of head of the UAF will have a very negative impact on Ukrainian football in particular and on the world stage in general. And it had a negative effect.
Ukraine has applied to host the 2030 World Cup, along with Spain and Portugal. However, Ukraine was excluded from the list of countries that could host the World Cup, especially due to the active actions of law enforcement and the pressure on the UAF. In fact, Ukraine is currently deprived of such an opportunity.
“Work on this is ongoing, but such interventions, including by law enforcement, have greatly shaken the UAF’s position,” he said.
