However, Italian media reports that there are rumors of five players who have tested positive for the virus. There is unrest in the ranks of Squadra Azura ahead of the crucial game against North Macedonia on March 24th.

The Italy national team is on high alert ahead of the playoff games for the World Cup finals as the Italian Football Federation notified members of the team’s technical staff of two cases of coronavirus.

However, Italian media reports that there are rumors of five soccer players who have tested positive for the coronavirus. The federation said in a statement there were other behind-the-scenes cases of coronavirus among support staff organizing things for the team.

The possible spread of the corona virus comes from footballers who have transmitted the virus, from their teammates in the clubs. At Inter, for example, Lautaro Martinez and Matthias Vesino tested positive for the virus.

Italy meet North Macedonia next Thursday, March 24 and will claim a ticket with their winner Portugal-Turkey in the event of victory.
