World Cup
The international press complained about Italy’s exclusion from the World Cup: “In hell”
The exclusion of Italy from the second World Cup in a row (2018, 2022) came as a big surprise to the football world as the front pages of the international press were dedicated to Roberto Mancini’s team.
Italy lost 1-0 to North Macedonia 90+2′ and were excluded from the World Cup in Qatar, while also missing the 2018 World Cup.
The black sheet for the “squadra azura” was written by “Renzo Barbera” from Palermo, where he had to accept a home defeat for the first time in the history of the World Cup qualification and at the same time left the World Cup as the fourth European champion.
Of course, the exclusion of the European champions left the football world speechless, and the “hell” experienced by Roberto Mancini’s team on Thursday evening (24/03) was seen on the front pages of the international press.
Gazzetta dello Sport: “Not in this world (WM)“
Corriere dello Sport: “In Hell”
Tuttosport: “No”
MARCA: “Italy out of the World Cup”
L ‘equipe: “Italy lost in the desert”
