Egypt defeated Senegal 1-0 in the Africa Cup of Nations final to take the lead in qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup. Ghana and Nigeria drew ‘white’.

The first replay of the Africa Cup of Nations final found them Egypt to avenge Senegal and take the win with you 1-0. Salio Cisse’s own goal gave the ‘Pharaohs’ the lead to qualify for the finals of the 2022 World Cup, although the two countries will finally settle their differences on Tuesday at the African champions’ home ground.

Nancy’s defender was unlucky in the 4th minute when Mohamed Salah sent the ball to the crossbar from close range and from there it was slammed into Siss’s body to land in the net. As if that wasn’t enough for Ali Cisse, he lost to injury to Abdou Diallo in the 14th minute and was replaced by Olympiacos’ Pap Abu Cisse.

That goal, Egypt’s first against Senegal since 2006, allowed the hosts to slow down and try to defend their lead. Carlos Queiroz’s players were the ones with the best moments of the game, but one of them was good enough to be considered an opportunity. The 1-0 remained until the end and the two teams will cross swords again in Diamnantio.

Ghana and Nigeria stayed 0-0 in Kumasi and in four days in Abuja the ultimate winner of the pair will emerge. The fight was quite ambiguous but not spectacular. Neither team managed to dominate, and the “white” tie fully reflects the efforts of players from both teams.
