In the final of the World Cup USA and Mexico, in the draw against New Zealand Costa Rica
USA and Mexico qualified for the finals of the World Cup in Qatar in CONCACAF’s last match, while Costa Rica draws against New Zealand to qualify for the finals of the tournament.
The jigsaw puzzle of teams qualifying for the World Cup finals in Qatar is largely resolved, with 29 teams already validating their tickets to the finals of the tournament.
The last (timed) teams to do so were Mexico and USA, who finished second and third respectively in the North American qualifiers. The Mexicans beat El Salvador 2-0 at home while the USA lost 2-0 to Costa Rica, who face New Zealand in the playoff game for the World Cup finals. Canada ranked first in North America.
Now there are still three tickets for Qatar to be distributed. One concerns Europe and the final of the third draw between Wales and their winners Scotland-Ukraine has been postponed to June. While the last “tickets” for the intercontinental playoffs (CONCACAF vs. OFC and CONMEBOL vs. AFC) will be awarded.
