Alex Morgan spoke about the struggles on and off the pitch for equality in women’s football and what still needs to happen.
Alex Morgan and the USA are fighting their own way at the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. The 34-year-old American athlete spoke about the struggles that have been fought on and off the pitch for equality in women’s football and what still needs to happen.
“Now we don’t have to fight out of competition and fight legal battles Space. This time we don’t have to worry about anything outside the field lines.
We have to work hard from morning to night and prepare ourselves physically and mentally for the next games. We will continue to support all players around the world who are fighting the same fight that we have been fighting for so long.”.
Among other things, she mentioned her personal life and the change she has experienced since her mother: “I’m a mother now, I wasn’t then. I feel like I’m in a very different situation than four years ago. I feel like I’m a better soccer player and a better teammate. And in general, I think women’s football has improved a lot in the last four years.”
