Lionel MESSI: “Everyone wants to beat Argentina more now”
After defeating Ecuador 1-0 in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Argentina national team forward Lionel Messi said that their opponents are now preparing more seriously for their matches against the Albicelestes:
“It is a tough and intense match. I was a little tired so they changed me but overall I felt good.
It was clearly seen that no one was relaxing in the friendly matches played today. Everyone wants to beat Argentina, even more so now that we are champions.
We recently became world champions, but it seems like a lot has already happened. We must continue to progress, fight and qualify for the next World Cup, match by match.
We know that there will be difficult matches in the qualifying tournament. “Ecuador has very good players, they know what they are doing and they are very good physically.”
