World Cup
Spain, Portugal and Morocco will host the 2030 World Cup, with three games to be played in three other countries
Portugal, Morocco and Spain are hosting the 2030 World Cup. The opening games will be played in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay for symbolic reasons, and the tournament will take place in six countries and three continents.
The die was cast for the 2030 World Cup when Spain, Morocco and Portugal took over hosting the tournament. For symbolic reasons, the start will of course take place in Uruguay (where the 1930 World Cup took place), but also in Argentina and Paraguay.
This is the first tournament to be held on three continents. In fact, the six specific countries qualify for the finals of the event without participating in the qualifiers.
At the same time, it was announced that the 2034 World Cup would take place in a country in Asia and Oceania. Saudi Arabia has expressed interest in hosting it, and of course Australia too.
