In a post on social media, Lionel Messi thanked those who supported him, while emphasizing that he shares the Ballon d’Or with his teammates and the Argentine people, because if he had not won the World Cup, the Price not lost on him.

Since Monday evening (October 30th), Lionel Messi has been the recipient of the Ballon d’Or at the 67th awards ceremony, with the Argentine reaching the eighth place of his career.

The Inter Miami star thanked the people who supported him with a post on Instagram and dedicated the award to Argentina. He emphasized that without the World Cup, the Ballon d’Or would not have ended up in his hands.

I am grateful to the people around the world who have supported me so much throughout my career and to whom I would like to dedicate this award, as well as to my family who have always been by my side.

This is a Ballon d’Or that I would also like to share with my teammates in Argentina, the technical staff and the collaborators. Because without the World Cup we achieved together, it would have been impossible for me to win the Ballon d’Or.

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you!”, wrote the Argentine.
