The authoritative British portal FourFourTwo named its version of the ranking of the greatest sensations in the history of world championships.
In first place is the 2014 World Cup semi-final match, where the German national team stunned the whole world by defeating the host of the tournament, Brazil, with a score of 7:1.
The second place on the list is taken by the result of the 1954 World Cup final, in which the West German team sensationally beat the “golden team” of Hungary under Ferenc Puskás. The bronze rating was given to the group stage match of the 1950 World Championship, in which the US team unexpectedly defeated the British.
Tenth place in the rankings was taken in the final match of the 2022 World Cup group stage, where Saudi Arabia shocked Argentina, which ended up being their only defeat in that tournament.
