Former Ukraine national team player Oleksiy Belik explained why it is very important for the national team to participate in the World Cup finals held in Qatar.
“It is clear that football is the number one sport in the world. It is very important to go as far as possible. We do not know when the war will end, but as soon as possible by Allah’s leave. We must also understand that after the war we will have many different events. I think that a platform like the World Cup is very important for our country, so we announce to the whole world that a war is going on in our country and maybe it will end. But we have suffered a lot and the whole world should not stand aside, but should help as much as it can.
It is true that the training camp is very long in such a situation, but I know that football players do not like long training camps when they go to two special matches, not a full season.”
