Valery BONDAR: “I dream of going to the World Cup 2022. It is necessary to please the Armed Forces of Ukraine”
Working for the Ukraine national team, defender Valeriy Bondar hopes the team will qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
“We will spend a lot of time together during the training camp, developing certain moments of the tactical plan. Naturally, you can get used to each other better over a long period of time. Every day we will work not only to win on the field, but also to please our nation, our men in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We are getting a lot of messages about this.
My dream is to go to Qatar because a football player can go to the World Cup once in a lifetime. This is the goal of every player on the team. I have already competed at the World Junior Championships, but the tournament of national teams is on a completely different level. I really want to go there.
“I also want our men, our nation and Ukraine to win. We will also work on the football fields, we will help our country in every way we can,” Bondar said.
The national team will play against Scotland in the play-off qualifying semi-finals on 1 June.
