There were three countries. Rebrov insists match against Sweden to be held in Spain
As it is known Spor.uaCities in Spain, Germany and Austria have applied to host the semi-final match to be played on behalf of the Ukrainian national team against the Swedish team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification play-offs. The last word on this matter belonged to the head coach of the Ukrainians, Sergei Rebrov, who preferred Spanish Valencia.
According to available data, the match will be played on March 26 not in Mestalla, which is the main sports arena of the city and whose stands are designed for approximately 50 thousand seats, but at Estadio Ciutat de Valencia for two reasons. There is reason to hope that the vast majority of 26,354 seats will be filled by Ukrainian fans, and Sergei Rebrov and his players are counting on the support of the “twelfth player”. Do not forget about the financial aspect: renting the Estadio Ciutat de Valencia is significantly cheaper than the Mestalla.
Let us also remind you that the winner of the semi-final, Ukraine – Sweden, will face the winner of the other match, Poland – Albania, on March 31.
Earlier, the UAF officially announced that the Ukraine national team will play its potential two matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Valencia, Spain.
