Benzema confirms he is ready to return to the France national team
Al-Ittihad forward Karim Benzema He announced that he is ready to play for the French national team at the 2026 World Cup.
“Who wouldn’t want to play in the World Cup? Everyone wants to participate in this tournament. I love football and competition, so if you ask me to go to the France team for the World Cup and I say no, I would be a liar. If they call me, I will come and play. I have ambitions.”
I love football and I love winning. I love winning trophies. For me this is the most important thing. I’m in my club now. If I am called to the national team, I will come and play. That’s all I have to do,” Benzema said.
In 2015, Benzema was suspended from the national team due to the blackmail scandal against Mathieu Valbuena. Karim started playing for the national team again in 2021. He announced his retirement from the national team in 2022.
