ZABARNY: “Victory at Eurovision is a very good impetus for all Ukraine”
Defender of Kyiv “Dynamo” Ilya Zabarny He shared his impressions of the training process in the national team after the Eurovision victory of Ukraine.
“The victory at Eurovision is a very good impulse for all Ukraine. Now our country is going through difficult times and this is a very emotional moment for every Ukrainian. When we watched the final vote count, the boys and I were so worried that our hearts would skip a beat. But we believed in victory, it had to happen. He deserves it so much.
We must raise the spirit of Ukrainians to the football field as well. And not just in June. There will already be matches that can give our fans a good mood. Now, for example, we will play against Empoli. Although this is not the leader, I believe Serie A are not weak teams, they know how to play there. They will try to show everything they can. We are going out to fight not just for ourselves, but for the whole country.
As for training, we’ve been under load for two days. This is necessary and we as professionals must build on these to lay the groundwork for the next fights,” said Zabarny.
The 2022 World Cup qualifying play-off match between Scotland and Ukraine will be played at Hampden Park stadium in Glasgow on 1 June.
