Andriy Yarmolenko, the winger of the Ukrainian national team, talked about how he finished the season in England and the goals of the upcoming matches of the national team.

“Honestly, I couldn’t wait for the end of the season to come to the national team and see the guys. I was very upset, I was in constant communication. But talking on the phone is one thing, another – live. I’m so glad to see the kids again, to share the football field with them. Let’s get started and get ready. My contract has expired, so West Ham and I shook hands, we wished the best. I will only have the warmest feelings with this club, with the fans, with the players. I found a lot of friends there. Of course I didn’t play as much as I would like in terms of football. But if you look globally, it’s a lot of interesting I met the person, studied their traditions. I saw how England supported Ukraine. Therefore, I can only be grateful to these people. I can say that I did everything that depends on me. I am 100% sure that I gave everything I have to the club.

West Ham also gave me a lot, showed that they are a really big club in England. Therefore, I am very grateful to the fans and my teammates.”

“As for Scotland, whatever team we played against, the meeting would be difficult and tense. Everyone understands that this will be a match to reach the World Cup, such matches are not easy. Of course we will prepare, we will train, we will try to win. We know it will be difficult, but we have to go out and give our all. Each player is already accustomed to the fact that football is all about emotions, to the constant pressure from the fans. We are used to it. But of course, it gives inspiration, strength, because you want to give people at least some kind of joy. You are ready to work, you know that you have to go out on the field and give all your strength for the sake of yourself, our supporters, all Ukrainians, the soldiers who are protecting us and our families.”

“Of course the guys saw the lure of our military, who asked and begged us to give them a ticket to the World Cup. “I can’t guarantee we’ll get there, but I promise we’ll put all our strength into it,” he said.
