The French striker gave an interview to TNT Sports Brasil and claimed that European sides are more likely to win the cup because they are used to playing against high-level sides.
“Argentina and Brazil don’t play balanced games to reach the World Cup. Football in South America isn’t as developed as it is in Europe. And that’s why the Europeans always win at the last World Cup.”
Fambino replied to his former teammate in Monaco, claiming that there were difficulties for his own national team: “Playing in CONMEBOL is not easy. We have to play in places like Bolivia, which I don’t know if France has ever played there, or in Uruguay and Chile. Maybe national teams.” South America may not be that good, but they all fight to the end. If Brazil and Argentina competed in Europe, they would qualify first.”
