The coach of the Scottish national team, Steve Clark, shared his views on his opponent on the eve of the match against the Ukrainian national team in the 2022 World Cup qualifying semi-finals.

“These [сборная Украины – прим.] I like it. This is a really good team. They are playing to win. They play positive football. I don’t think they will come and sit idly by. The Ukrainians are good in both stages of the game, they are very good on offense and when they lose the ball they get it back very quickly. Technically a good team.”

“Ukraine has two game systems. They can play in two different ways. They can play with three defenders or use four defenders. “I’m not quite sure how they’re going to start against us, but they won’t be sure how to start this game either, so that’s pretty fair.”

Shakhtar often reaches the final stages of European tournaments, while Dynamo Kyiv also plays in the group stages. There are top-notch players in the Ukrainian national team. We must not be deceived. Maybe you don’t know their names or you don’t know the level of Ukrainian football, but they always play at a very good level. “The Ukrainians are good players and a good team and we will have to make every effort to reach a result,” he said.

Recall that the Scotland v Ukraine game will be played on 1 June.
