Evgeny LEVCHENKO: “It will be easier for Ukraine to pass Wales than Scotland”
Former player of the Ukrainian national team Evgeny Levchenko commented on the game of our national team against Scotland. He also spoke about the upcoming match against Wales, which will decide the fate of entering the 2022 World Cup.
“It is absolutely impossible to relax halfway through. We passed Scotland safely, especially when we came to 2-0. After 2:0 it felt like our guys relaxed a bit and didn’t have enough strength anymore. However, after a two-month hiatus, many players entered the national team cycle, where they trained very seriously.
I think when we accepted that ridiculous ball (there were a number of mistakes) it was scary for the Scots to step forward and make the score 2-2.
I think Wales will go a little easier. This is purely my personal opinion and it’s based entirely on the fact that I see the Scots as a more cohesive and solid team.
Still, I always have some doubts about our second game. In a short time, the second game can play a cruel joke. That’s why I trust the national team 100%.”
Recall that on 5 June the Ukrainian team will play the 2022 World Cup play-off final against Wales at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. The start time of the match is 19.00.
