World Cup
Oleksandr ZINCHENKO: “I will not say about well-deserved defeat, I wish Wales good luck”
The leader of the Ukraine national team, Oleksandr Zinchenko, evaluated the 0:1 defeat from Wales in a comment he made to British journalists.
“First of all, I would like to thank you for all the support we have received. We left everything on the field.”
“The Welsh team did a great job and Hennessy was the hero of the match, making some incredible saves several times. For us this defeat was not what he deserved – the game was very tense. We need to keep going and work hard. I wish Wales the best for the World Cup.”
“Football is emotions. If we can give fans great emotions, that’s great and that’s the essence of our work. Unfortunately we didn’t get the result we wanted today – sorry for our fans.”
“Today we gave all our strength on the field, but football is like that: everything happens there,” said Zinchenko.
Wales qualified for the World Cup for the first time since 1958.
