Joe ALLEN: “Our aim is not limited to a random winning shot”
Wales captain Joe Allen commented on the victory against the Ukraine national team (1:0) in the 2022 World Cup qualification play-off final.
“The only thing we can count on is ourselves. We’ve come a long, long way. This team’s goals are not limited to a random winning shot. Our current roster is very different from before – its level is sky high. Now we have to look forward to the World Cup and it’s incredible.
I would like to point out that we are calmer than the fans. Adrenaline really builds up before the game and you have to use it wisely. “We finally got ourselves together and after the free kick, Gareth took the lead.”
