Vitaliy MYKOLENKO: “The Ukrainian national team is not in a holiday mood”
Ukraine national team defender Vitaliy Mykolenko praised the Nations League match against Ireland. The match will start on 14 July at 21:45.
– 5th game in a row in a short time. Do you have emotional and physical fatigue?
– I thought about it. But there is nothing to equate the words Ukraine national team and fatigue. I came here to play for Ukraine, for my family and those who support us. You can not get tired of the Ukrainian national team.
– How did you congratulate the first goal you scored for the national team? And how are you being supported by Everton during these difficult times?
– Congratulations from one of the Everton coaches and Patterson (Everton player) from Scotland. I’m glad Everton invited Dynamo to play a Test match and that’s very important. I want to thank everyone, all the countries we played matches.
– Yaremchuk jokingly said that he did not know how to celebrate goals. what did you answer him
– I scored the first goal, that’s all. I want to help the team, scored – good. I didn’t think about the celebrations, I just thought about how to help the team.
– The national team collection has been going on for a very long time. How do you approach the last game in this segment?
– Emotions are positive, because we won the last match. And when you win, recovery happens faster. I have never seen such a mood among men, they say, everyone is on vacation. We will give 100%.
– Vitaliy, Everton fought for survival and a war broke out in Ukraine. How did you feel?
– I feel fine now. But it would be better if we could play in Ukraine now. I will say it was the hardest time. When I had some small problems in my life, I thought they were big problems. And I had to come out and prove myself at Everton. We had to focus on football and the game.
How has Irish international Sheamus Coleman helped you at Everton?
– I’ll tell you a story. I just met new partners when I arrived in the UK on 31 December. But on New Year’s Eve, Sheamus wrote to me that he knows how difficult it is for me in a new place and is always ready to help me and will be there when I’m at Everton. And it has helped me a lot since then. Big captain.
– Sergei Sidorchuk said that his family is in Zaporozhye, and the Russian army is close to the city. What is your family situation?
– My family is in Kiev. Fortunately, all is well. My friends are in different cities of Ukraine. I try to keep in touch with them. They are more or less safe.
