FIFA has officially announced a change in the arrangements for the 2022 World Cup to be held in Qatar. Participating teams will be able to add 26 players to the app instead of the usual 23 players.

The maximum number of players that can be included in the pre-registration has been increased from 35 to 55. Players included in the deadline must play their last game at club level no later than 13 November.

A maximum of 26 people can be on the bench during a match: 15 players and 11 staff, including at least one doctor.

The increase in the number of players in the app is due to the busy schedule of the upcoming season, as well as the coronavirus pandemic. Previously, the application for Euro 2020 was extended to 26 people.
