Anna PETRIK: “We drew conclusions from the past matches”
Anna Petryk, the player of the Ukrainian national team, shared her feelings from the flight from Iceland to Poland, where the national team is training, and drew attention to the intensity of the Icelandic league, reminding her of the previous matches against Scotland and Hungary.
– You had to reschedule five flights in a short time last weekend. How do you feel after spending all that time in the sky and jet lag?
– The flight was really hard, but the thought of where and why I flew gave me strength and patience.
I adapted quickly and feel good. However, on the road I wrote myself as a group of old people, now I realize that I was wrong, and this pleases me (smiles – approx).
– In the Icelandic championship there was a defeat by direct opponent Valur and a rather sensational defeat by Keflavik. The same Valur was inferior to the eighth Thor/Ka. Can we say that the Icelandic championship is much more equal than our Major League?
– Yes, we lost several times in the first round. It doesn’t hurt, but it can’t. Every championship game is tough and no matter what you win 4:0 or lose 0:1 you will always be maxed out after the game.
It’s hard to get used to, because sometimes you don’t have time to recover between matches, a strong and eventful championship.
– The first for Luis Cortes were the matches against Scotland and Hungary. A few seconds were not enough to win in Scotland, and the Hungarian team turned all their chances in the first 30 minutes, after which it was already difficult to return to the game. What are your memories of these fights?
– I remember very well these two matches, the results of which were not satisfactory. The unfortunate result in the national team saddened me much more personally.
I know that in every game the girls give their all, but today you have to give more than the maximum and win at any cost. We’ve drawn conclusions from past matches, we’ve figured it out, we’ve looked at everything and we’re ready to fix it.
I really want to cheer up all Ukrainians with our positive result. Winning the sports fields is just the beginning. I believe that soon will be the most important victory of the country, which will bring us the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Victory to Ukraine! said Anna Petrik.
The 2023 World Cup qualifiers will be played on 24 June against Scotland and on 28 June against Hungary. Both matches will be played in Rzeszow, Poland.
