Football player of the national team of Ukraine: “I want to give a smile to the Ukrainians”

Ukrainian female team player Natia Pantsulaia He shared his thoughts ahead of the crucial 2023 World Cup qualifiers against Scotland and Hungary.

“Our coach is of course a very good professional, so he always supported us, kept in touch with us. He was always interested in how we were physically and morally, whether we needed help, he was open to us and we felt his support. Today I think all opponents are quite difficult because the level of football is increasing and there is no team passing. That’s why all teams are complex, no matter what our group is. To date, we have not dismantled anyone yet, because we have our own missions, we fix some tactical moments, we build our own game. I understand that the coach wanted to level our physical condition, because the championships ended in different periods. I think it will be time to review.

Team games have always been important and a great motivation. In such games you always want to win and you need it. But today there is much more motivation, because every victory is like a puzzle to our common victory. That’s why I believe that we play not only for ourselves, but for the country, for the people. I want to give a smile to our people in Ukraine, at least for a few minutes.”

The match between the Ukraine and Scotland women’s teams will be held on 24 June, and the match against Hungary on 28 June.

Anatoly TRUBIN: “Rebrov decided to sacrifice him”

Goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national team Anatoly Trubin I remembered the match against France (0:4) when Sergei Rebrov released the semi-reserve squad.

“It was the coach’s choice. It is always the coach who decides whether the match will be sacrificed or not. If we talk about the challenge itself, we all understand the strength of France. I understood that there could be a lot of shots, there could be a lot of chances, and I was ready for it. When the opponent is always with the ball, constantly attacking, you are always in the game: you play in sections, you react, you constantly feel the rhythm.

For me personally, it’s even easier than when your team is attacking most of the time and you’re standing idle and suddenly there’s a moment where you have to be ready,” Trubin said.

INFANTINO: “If there was no FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries of the world”

FIFA President Gianni Infantino He commented on World Cup ticket prices, saying they reflected “absolutely insane” demand for next summer’s tournament:

“We have six to seven million tickets and in 15 days we received 150 million ticket requests. So every day we have 10 million requests. This shows how strong the World Cup is.”

FIFA has sold just 44 million tickets in almost 100 years of the World Cup. So we were able to sell tickets for the 300th anniversary of the World Cup in two weeks. Just imagine. “This is absolutely crazy.”

Infantino also noted that funds from ticket sales would be reinvested into world football, but did not specify a specific amount:

“The important thing is that the revenue from this goes back into football around the world. If it weren’t for FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries of the world. Football exists thanks to the revenues we get from the World Cup, and we reinvest that into football around the world.”

Previously, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called on FIFA to further reduce 2026 World Cup ticket prices.
