World Cup 2022: FIFA wants to set up cameras in the teams’ changing rooms
FIFA plans to install cameras in the team dressing rooms at stadiums in Qatar and broadcast live images of coaches giving instructions to the players.
The technological changes introduced at this year’s World Cup will not only affect what happens on the pitch, such as semi-automatic offside, but also what happens off it, particularly in the dressing room.
According to RMC Sport, FIFA is seriously considering installing cameras in team dressing rooms in Qatar stadiums, and the images can be shown live in the broadcast or with a live delay, that is, after a few minutes.
This is the case, for example, with American football broadcasts in the United States, where before the game starts or at halftime, pictures are shown from the locker room, the coaches giving instructions, the players taking the oath of victory and walking onto the field. .
The world governing body has for years been looking for ways to broadcast more non-game images that bring the public closer to their favorite players and sees this as an ideal way to achieve its goal.
