World Cup schedule on ANT1: “Open” all games from the quarter-finals
ANT1 is feverishly preparing for the big televised bet of the winter and has already put together the 64 game schedule on ANT1 and ANT1+. The games are open from the quarterfinals.
The countdown to the World Cup has started and from November 21st to December 18th the whole planet will travel to Qatar to worship the “round goddess”. ANT1 is feverishly preparing for the big televised bet of the winter and has already put together the 64 game schedule on ANT1 and ANT1+. All matches from round of 16 to final available live via free-to-air frequency!
The opening ceremony and first match of the World Cup Qatar-Ecuador will be broadcast live on Antenna TV’s free frequency on November 21st. Deviating from the protocol that the host country should stage the first game of the competition, the Arabs asked FIFA to play at 6 p.m. instead of 12 p.m. Because as part of the spectacular opening ceremony, they are preparing a unique show with thousands of sparklers that will light up the Doha sky day and night.
On the same day, Antenna TV will also broadcast the USA-Wales evening game, as well as all games played at 21:00 during the tournament, with the exception of four third group stage games, when each group’s games will start for organizational reliability reasons simultaneously, so they are divided into ANT1 and ANT1+.
ANT1+ broadcasts all matches played at 12:00 and 15:00 and has the lion’s share of the group stage with 28 broadcasts and four afternoon games (17:00) in the “16” phase.
However, all matches from the quarter-finals to the grand final on December 18th, which will highlight the new world champion, will be broadcast live on Antenna TV!
In addition to the 32 games that ANT1+ will be exclusive to, the other 32 games will be broadcast with enriched content across the platform alongside the ‘open’ ANT1. In addition to games, the ANT1+ programming includes live broadcasts and dozens of hours of exclusive content.
After the end of the live broadcast of each match, subscribers via ANT1+ can watch all completed matches via the video-on-demand service on any device (smartphone, tablet, PC, smart TV) that supports the application.
At the same time, all the thematic shows for the World Cup will be broadcast on Antenna’s open frequency from the beginning to the end of the event, so that all sports fans can watch the highlights of the games from all day.
Regarding the people who will carry out the ambitious but demanding project, Antenna is already in talks with the journalists, which will complement those already present in the group’s sports department for the needs of the broadcasts. According to information, two agreements with major media groups are in the works, which will further improve television coverage of the event.
With the recruitment of a top team of professionals for match descriptions and broadcasts, established experienced journalists and renowned football experts for in-depth football analysis, Antenna seems to be preparing for a football experience that will make this World Cup unforgettable for all Greek fans.

Shevchenko made statements about the Ukraine-Sweden match in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers
UAF President Andrey Shevchenko He talked about the match against the Swedish national team in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
“When we were drawn against Sweden we probably faced our toughest opponent. I have great respect for Swedish football, you have always had good national teams and great players.”
“It’s always difficult to face Scandinavian teams, even though you don’t qualify for the World Cup, because you have so much quality, character and identity. This is similar to us to some extent. I don’t think there are favourites. In the end it all depends on the details, the injury situation and the preparations,” said Shevchenko.
In case of victory, Ukraine will play with the winner of the Poland-Albania doubles for a ticket to the World Cup. Ukraine will play the final match at home on March 31, again conditionally.
In addition to the 12 teams that finished second in their groups, the 4 winners of the Nations League quartet will also participate in the play-offs. All 16 participants are divided into 4 paths. Each route will include a semi-final and a final. The semi-finals will be held on March 26, and the finals will be held on March 31, 2026.

National team’s home matches abroad: Shevchenko surprises with spending figures
UAF President Andrey Shevchenko He pointed out the significant financial costs of organizing the Ukrainian national team’s “home” matches outside the country.
“Hosting such meetings costs us an enormous amount of money and we are deprived of the opportunity to assemble a full stadium. In fact, the cost of a so-called home match at a neutral venue costs around five times more than a regular match.”
Our sponsors are located in a country where the struggle continues, so their financial resources are seriously limited.
I cannot approach the government with requests for additional funding.
We are forced to work tightly within the available budget and rely on the support of private donors, especially when it comes to social initiatives,” the UAF president told Dagens Nyheter.
During the current year, the Ukrainian national team played its official home matches in stadiums in Spain and Poland.

Martinez explains why Ronaldo is still irreplaceable in the national team
Head coach of the Portuguese national team Roberto Martinez He explained why Cristiano Ronaldo continues to play an important role in the national team.
– There is always a lot of talk around Cristiano Ronaldo. Why does he remain the undisputed starter for the Portuguese national team, even though he will soon be 41?
“It’s all about his attitude towards the profession.” We constantly evaluate three key factors: talent level, accumulated experience and the contribution a player can make to the national team.
Making the highest demands on himself for the benefit of the team allows the captain to maintain his place in the squad. His desire to be the best is passed on to his partners. “The 25 goals he scored in 30 matches as a striker confirms that his play brings tangible benefits to the national team,” he said.
