The FLGR spoke about the possible admission of athletes to the World Cup stage: “Are we ready? Definitely!”

Vice-President of the Russian Ski Federation (FLGR) Sergey Kryanin commented on the words of the Secretary General of the International Ski Federation (FIS) Michel Vion about the possible admission of our athletes to the World Cup stage of the 2022/23 season.

– Since such information has appeared, it means that discussions are already underway, and this is certainly a positive sign. I think FIS is well aware that without Russian skiers the upcoming season will not be so interesting, will not cause excitement among the fans. The partners of the international federation also understand this, because it is in their interests that the level of attention to skiing tournaments be sufficiently high. Therefore, they want to see our guys both at the Cup and at the World Championships. Are we ready? Definitely. Wake us up at night, we will run 10, and 20, and 50 km, and even win, – said Kryanin RT.

Ishmuratova – about appealing to CAS to remove biathletes: “The chances are low, but it’s better to do something than wait for manna from heaven”

Two-time Olympic biathlon champion Svetlana Ishmuratova told Match TV that the appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the exclusion of Russian biathletes from international competitions is unlikely to be satisfied, but we must hope for the best.

Earlier, the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Russian Olympic Committee Mikhail Degtyarev said that the Russian side would appeal to CAS on December 10 due to the removal of biathletes from international competitions.

Russians have not been allowed to compete under the auspices of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) since 2022.

    — Will contacting CAS bring us a positive result?

“Of course, there are very few chances here, but it’s better to try to do something than just sit and wait for manna from heaven.” As they say, hope dies last – we’ll see,” Ishmuratova told Match TV.
