The election of the president of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) will be held on December 20 at a meeting of the organization, said the head of the ROC, Stanislav Pozdnyakov.

– On December 20 this year, the Olympic Assembly will be held. It will elect the president and leadership of the organization. The majority of delegates must be representatives of sports included in the program of the Olympiad. By the end of this year, a new ROC charter will be developed,” Pozdnyakov told reporters after the meeting of the ROC executive committee.

Pozdnyakov headed the ROC in May 2018, replacing Alexander Zhukov. Pozdnyakov is a four-time Olympic champion in saber fencing.

Derbusheva became the winner of the individual race at the Russian Summer Biathlon Championship

Tamara Derbusheva won the gold medal in the 15 km individual race at the Russian Summer Biathlon Championships in Chaikovsky (Perm Territory).

Derbusheva covered the distance in 46 minutes 59.1 seconds, with one miss on four firing lines. The second was Victoria Slivko (2 misses, +1.23.2), the top three was closed by Irina Kazakevich (3, +1.31.3).

    The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) announced that it had not received information from the five-time Olympic champion in synchronized swimming Anastasia Davydova about her departure from Russia and her resignation of the organization’s secretary general.

    Earlier, Match TV reported that Davydova had left Russia and had no plans to return to the country. The 39-year-old ex-athlete led the Olympic Synchronized Swimming Center.

    – The Russian Olympic Committee currently does not have information from the 5-time Olympic champion in synchronized swimming Anastasia Davydova that she or one of her family members left the territory of our country and does not plan to return to Russia.

    There have been no formal resignations from the Secretary General to the ROC.

    The Russian Olympic Committee is carrying out planned work, including preparations for the reporting and election Olympic Assembly. A date has been set, and the process of nominating candidates for leadership positions has begun. Now an important role is played by a high level of qualifications and specialized training, serious experience in the Olympic movement and the sports industry.

    The ROC apparatus is working in an enhanced mode, the operational efficiency of the organization does not depend on the personal situation of the Secretary General.

    If necessary, relevant decisions will be made in accordance with the charter of the Russian Olympic Committee and solely on the basis of verified data, the statement on the ROC website says.

    Davydova was elected General Secretary of the ROC in May 2014.

    Biathlete Karim Khalili won the gold medal in the individual race at the Russian Summer Championships, which takes place in Tchaikovsky (Perm Territory).

    An athlete from Moscow showed a time of 51 minutes 42.5 seconds with three misses. The second place with a delay of 58.7 seconds was taken by the representative of the Tyumen region Evgeny Garanichev, who made 1 miss.
