The 2036 Olympics may be held in Egypt

The Egyptian authorities have announced their intention to host the Summer Olympic Games in 2036.
According to nu.nl, the head of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, was informed that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi approved the country’s candidacy to host the Olympics. Bach noted that “Egypt’s sports infrastructure makes it possible to host the 2036 Olympic Games.”
The application process has not officially started yet. Cairo claimed the right to host the 2008 Olympics, but was not included in the final list of candidates, Beijing was chosen as the capital of the Games.
In 2024, the Olympic Games will be held in Paris.
