The representative of the team of the Sverdlovsk region, Anastasia Shevchenko, who ran the first stage of the relay at the Russian Biathlon Championship, named the factors that interfered with her in the race.
The athlete passed the baton fourth with a delay of 59.3 seconds.
– The race did not work out for me because of many little things that I did not expect. On the third lap, a leaf or twig hit right between the platform and the wheel, and it really interfered with my climb because of the noise. And the push was not the same. She then flew out on her own, and it became easier for me, ”Shevchenko said on the air of the Match TV channel.
– On the first descent of the second lap, a wasp or some kind of midge crashed right into my glasses. I did not expect this at all, it confused me. Then, on the second descent, a snake crawled at the same end. I also did not expect to see her there at all, I had to taxi a little along the trajectory. Such trifles bothered me today, so I’m not completely satisfied. When I came to the counter, these little things made themselves felt, – the Match TV website quotes Shevchenko.
The team of the Sverdlovsk Region eventually finished second, 25.7 seconds behind the winners, the team of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra.
