Here are events to watch at the Beijing Games for Day 3, on the night of February 6 to 7 (Quebec time).

Homan-Morris: end of the round robin (8:05 p.m.)

With a 5-3 record, Rachel Homan and John Morris conclude the preliminary round by playing their last match in mixed doubles curling. They will face Italy.

The bronze medal match and the gold match will be played on Tuesday.

Skating: continuation and end of the team competition (8:15 p.m.)

Canada managed to qualify for the final of the team competition in figure skating, with the 4and rank in the qualifying phase.

It is the athletes of the Russian Olympic Committee (COR) who lead the rankings, those who are perceived as the big favorites to win.

The Canadians won gold in this event in Pyeonchang in 2018.

Parrot et cie on the hunt for the podium (11 p.m.)

Canada has high hopes of a podium finish in the men’s slopestyle event.

Three world stars in the discipline, namely Mark McMorris, Sébastien Toutant and Maxence Parrot, will be in this colorful final.

In qualifying on Day 2, the latter took the 2and8and and 10and ranks.

Kick-off of the alpine skiing events (11 p.m.)

At 11 p.m., Canadians James Crawford, Broderick Thompson and Brodie Seger will take part in the men’s downhill, which was originally scheduled to be contested on Day 2. Windy conditions forced the postponement of the event, however.

Women’s hockey team takes back the collar (11:10 p.m.)

After convincing victories against Switzerland and Finland, Canada continues with a duel against COR athletes.

The United States, the other team in Group A, will face the Canadians at the same time on Day 4.

Medals at stake in short track (6:30 a.m.)

As luck would have it, Kim Boutin, Alyson Charles and Florence Brunelle are all from the same wave of quarter-finals in the 500 meters.

Boutin is the world record holder for this distance. She set the mark at the World Cup in Salt Lake City in 2019.

A few minutes later, it will be the turn of Pascal Dion and Jordan Pierre-Gilles to skate in the quarterfinals of the 1000 meters.

The semi-finals and final will also be staged on Day 3, so the finals are scheduled for 7:41 a.m. (500m F) and 7:52 a.m. (1000m H).

Toboggan representatives (6:50 a.m.)

The first leg of the women’s luge event will be contested at the National Center for Sliding Sports.

Canadians Trinity Ellis, Makena Hodgson and Natalie Corless are among the 35 athletes who will take the start.
