No matter how good or bad your start to the season is Fantasy NFL, this phase of the campaign is crucial. If your team has been disappointing so far, you’ll have to make up ground with smart choices in waiver wire and decisions on starting or placing players. That’s why we stay on top of every game and injury so we can better prepare you for the week ahead. Our Week 6 RB Rankings will help you succeed in this important stretch of the season.

We’ve seen a rash of injuries in the first five weeks, highlighting the reigning Indy racing champion, Jonathan Taylor. Taylor (ankle) missed the Colts’ Week 5 game against the Broncos, but hopes to return for a juicy game against Jacksonville. With Nyheim Hines (concussion) also injured, could be the show Deon Jackson.

As we always say, injuries are a curse to some but a blessing to others. Seahawks veteran Rashaad Penny (shin) may have suffered a season-ending foot injury over the weekendwhich paved the way for rookie Kenneth Walker III; (against the Cardinals) had a huge TD run. After New England ruled out Damien Harris (hip), Rhamondre Stevenson (@Browns) showed up and swept the Lions for 161 yards. Both KW3 and Montreux they have tremendous PPR potential as their hands and feet have been praised by their trainers throughout their young pro careers. a benjamin (@Seahawks) would also be a great option to run and receive this week if James Conner (rib) can’t be around.

Other running backs who continue to be versatile offensive threats include Devin Singletary (@Chiefs), Melvin Gordon III (@Chargers) and JK Dobbins (@Giants). We can also add to that list the Jets rookie, Breece Hall (@ Packers), despite the tough matchup. Hall has been explosive the past two weeks. In the same way, Travis Etienne (@Colts) is coming off his best game and is available in PPR leagues in a decent matchup against Indianapolis. However, James Robinson remains a safer option.

Raheem Mostert (vs. Vikings), dominating bunting against Chase Edmonds, is trending upward, but that’s not true of all “RB1s.” Cam Akers (vs. Panthers) He’s taken over in Los Angeles, but he’s struggled all year and is just a no-nonsense fan against Carolina. Brian Robinson Jr. (@Bears) should continue to rise, but the Commanders’ crowded RB room limits his value by one match favorable against Chicago. Tyler Allgeier (vs. 49ers) continues to give up some carries to Caleb Huntley, and Damien Williams (rib) could return to eat into Allgeier’s playing time even more. Considering the matchup, it’s hard to trust either Falcons back.

With Derrick Henry, Jamaal Williams and D’Andre Swift, Dameon Pierce and Josh Jacobs out this week, some owners will have to dig deeper into their RB2s or flexes. That could mean playing Najee Harris (vs. Buccaneers), Clyde Edwards-Helaire (vs. Bills), or Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard (vs. Eagles) in tough matchups, or expecting a ton of sacks from Kareem Hunt (vs. Bill Patriots), Rachaad White (vs. Steelers) or Hines (vs. Jaguars) if he plays.
